A powerful collaboration between Soumik Datta on the 19-stringed sarod and drummer Bernhard Schimpelsberger, following their first critically acclaimed release Circle of Sound (2012). Their musical vision ever growing, the band now returns to launch their second album, Anti-hero. An alchemic synthesis of Indian and contemporary music, the duet has now expanded to include orchestral strings, live electronics and award-winning special guests.
Hailed as the 'vanguard of British Asian music' (BBC) their sound resonates with deep Indian ragas, urban beats, glockenspiels and a spirited rock attitude. Accompanied by a film, the launch show at Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank, London) features special guests including Nitin Sawhney and Anoushka Shankar.
